The Sutherland Sharks have put their support behind the team from 'Kick for Africa' who collect football gear from Australia and take it to the less fortunate in Africa who have the same passion fro the sport as we do. Now the Sharks are asking for its members to get behind the cause.
The club are asking all those Shire football fans and players and parents to gather up all of their boots, shinpads and gear and bring it down to Seymour Shaw Park and place it in the Kick for Africa blue bin located at the Park. You will fine the blue bin marked and placed under the pergola in front of the canteen for all your gear.
Kick for Africa collect all of the gear donated and ship it out to Africa for distribution to less fortunate players and clubs in the area. Africa has a massive football following but alot of the players and fans are in the same postion as we are here in Australia. We all have those old boots from last season or the pair thats gone out of trend that were barely used. Even the shinpads that didnt quite fit right, its time to gather it all together and bring it to the club.
Each year the Sharks players are given new gear and unifrom so we know that you will have polo's, tracksuits, kits and socks all sitting around that you no longer want "Well we want them back!" bring them down and lets put a team in Africa in Sharks kit and colors to play with pride under our logo.
The bin is available at the park now and all year around so dont forget to tell your friends and anyone who plays the game to get involved.
