SHARKS WIN FIRST HOME GAME OF SEASON
Sutherland Sharks beat South Coast Wolves 2-0 at Seymour Shaw last night to record their first win of the season after two close away games to start the Premier League 2010 competition.
Blake Powell put the sharks ahead before half time taking a cross from the right on the far post and heading it back across the Wolves keeper into the right hand corner of the net. The Sharks had the most of play but the Wolves were allways dangerous and only good defensive work kept them at bay. The second half saw the Sharks come out and play good attcking football putting together some good passing and looked as though the team football of 2009 was coming together.
The Wolves were still in the game and created chances with very clever lead up play but the finishing under pressure let them down. It wasn`t long before the Sharks sealed the win with a second goal after some good team football. George Souris was back after a back injury scare and with Stavo in the middle of the park and Chris Price playing strongly the team is settling back into the form of the last two seasons.
An entertaining game enjoyed by a good home crowd.
